Here are five things to look for when purchasing a new solar power system for your home:<\/p>\n

1. Insist on a quality solar \u2018inverter\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The solar inverter is arguably the most important component of a solar power system and is responsible for keeping your system producing power and connected to the electricity grid. Two European brands, \u2018Fronius\u2019 (Austria) and \u2018SMA\u2019 (Germany), lead the way in terms of quality and reputation, and so either brand is a wise choice.<\/p>\n

2. Choose an established brand of solar panel<\/strong><\/p>\n

The range of solar panels in Australia is larger than the range of inverters, and several brands have well-earned reputations. A range of good solar panels includes (but is not limited to) Suntech, Trina, Jinko, Tindo, Sunpower, JA Solar, LG and REC. When comparing solar panels, look for brands that have been active for over 10 years, have an Australian head office and have received good online reviews.<\/p>\n
