{"id":550,"date":"2012-11-20T13:00:31","date_gmt":"2012-11-20T02:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.houspect.com.au\/wa\/?p=550"},"modified":"2018-09-06T16:10:11","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T06:10:11","slug":"timber-pest-inspections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.houspect.com.au\/wa\/blog\/entry\/timber-pest-inspections.html","title":{"rendered":"TIMBER PEST INSPECTIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All property owners should be encouraged to recognise the necessity for having regular Timber Pest Inspections.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Australian Standards recommend having the above at least on an annual basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The majority of people today have a desire to <u>lessen the chemical impact<\/u> especially on the home environment and people who once had annual treatments for termite prevention now opt for Annual Timber Pest Inspections.<\/p>\n<p>These inspections should be as comprehensive about termites as Pre-purchase Timber Pest Inspections and a full report should be provided for the <u>home owners records<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>These records can then be provided to the new owners when the property changes hands.<\/p>\n<p>The <u>main object<\/u> of Pre purchase Timber Pest Inspections is to look for evidence of damage caused by<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> termites,<\/li>\n<li>or fungal decay<\/li>\n<li>or borers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.houspect.com.au\/wa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/03\/pic2-300x196.png\" alt=\"pic2\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-551\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.houspect.com.au\/wa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/03\/pic2-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/www.houspect.com.au\/wa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/03\/pic2.png 941w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, any <u>conditions<\/u> that make the property more susceptible to Timber Pests are noted e.g.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>timbers in contact with the ground<\/li>\n<li>high moisture areas e.g. leaking pipes, air conditioning units discharging water next to the house etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Houspect Termite Inspections recommendations can then be made to the property owner to lessen the risk of Timber Pests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All property owners should be encouraged to recognise the necessity for having regular Timber Pest Inspections.
