Houspect Handover Inspections provide professional and expert reports for home owners and investors in Greater Sydney and regional NSW including Southern Highlands, Wollongong, Central Coast, Newcastle/ Hunter and surrounding areas.
Whether you have purchased an off the plan apartment or are buying a new apartment, it is important to consider having an independent inspection carried out prior to moving in to check the final construction and finish of your unit has been completed to an acceptable standard.
Many owners and investors do not have the skills or knowledge to identify defects or poor workmanship. Without an independent handover inspection, you could be left dealing with defects and problems and having to spend time and effort having them rectified whilst trying to enjoy living in your new apartment.
A handover inspection provides a key opportunity to have any problems or imperfections rectified before you take possession of the property.
What Does the Report Provide?
A Houspect Handover Inspection report is an independent and unbiased document completed in accordance with Australian Standards.
Once the construction process is complete and after a final clean of the property has been undertaken, our qualified building inspectors examine the unit and complete a report that describes the final condition of the completed construction work and details of the final finishes.
The report will describe any defects and problems in easy to understand language and will contain photos of notable items so that you can see what issues may exist.
Houspect Building Inspectors use a detailed handover inspection checklist to help identify whether the construction and workmanship on your new unit has been completed in accordance with the National Construction Code, applicable Australian Standards and acceptable standards of workmanship.
The report can be used in discussions with your builder to help ensure they rectify any issues before occupancy. Often our clients simply hand the report to their builder, who will then use it to help complete any rectification works.
If a dispute arises with the builder, the Houspect Handover Inspection Report can be used in the dispute resolution process.
