Houspect Handover Inspections provide professional and expert reports for home owners and investors in Greater Sydney and regional NSW including Southern Highlands, Wollongong, Central Coast, Newcastle/ Hunter and surrounding areas.
Building a new home is a complex process and rarely does a build go by without experiencing a hiccup or two along the way. No matter your building company’s good reputation, a successful build comes down to those who performed the work and how well they were supervised on the job.
When the time comes for your final check of your new home, you as the home owner do not want to rely entirely on the building company’s interpretation of what qualifies as good workmanship and many people do not have the skills or knowledge to identify whether the work has been carried out to acceptable industry standards.
It is important therefore to have an independent inspection carried out on your home at the end of construction to ensure that everything has been completed to a professional and acceptable standard. It is much easier to have any problems or imperfections identified in the handover inspection report rectified before moving into your new home.
What Does the Report Provide?
A Houspect Handover Inspection report provides you with an independent and unbiased report describing the final condition and finishes of the completed construction work.
Our qualified Building Inspectors use a detailed handover inspection checklist to help identify whether the construction and workmanship on your project has been completed in accordance with the National Construction Code, applicable Australian Standards and acceptable standards of workmanship.
The report will describe any defects and problems in easy to understand language and will contain photos of notable items so that you can see what issues may exist.
The report can be used in discussions with your builder to help ensure they rectify any issues before occupancy. Often our clients simply hand the report to their builder, who then uses it to help complete any rectification works.
If a dispute arises with the builder, the Houspect Handover Inspection Report can be used in the dispute resolution process.
